    Went to the gym for the first time in years on Tuesday. I'm still stiff/hurting in my arms/legs/lower back, but mainly I can't extent my arms properly still. The joints between lower/upper arm don't let me make my arms go straight. Is that just a routine sign of over doing it on the first day or something more serious?
    If that lasts for more than 2 days check in with a doctor. Sounds like over-exertion to me, did you stretch before/after the workout?

    Yeah I did. Google said it can last from 2-5 days though so I guess I'll leave it until Sunday and see. I'm hoping the fact that it's in both arms means it's just over-exertion. Tearing something in both would be unfortunate lol.

    Its set up like so:
    Warm up
    Strength
    WOD

    I find it to be fun, but at the same time it's far more hellish than other programs.

    They have a higher rate of injury from what i've read.

    I know most people that do crossfit practice correct form and technique, but they have admitted that the sport often encourages shitty mechanics when doing high reps.

    coz they don't take form seriously and with that comes high chance of injuring yourself. people are obviously getting good results from it otherwise it wouldn't have been as popular as it is, but for beginners that tries the excersises without any form of prep it does look risky.

    Besides the obvious stuff like pull-ups, running, and push ups, you can expect lots of kettle-bell/dumb-bell exercises. Rowing is common, goblet squats, rope climb, thrusters, snatches, burpees... etc.

    The WODs are high in cardio.

    Now that you mention it I've seen some sketchy situations, but usually you'll be fine if you don't bite off more than you can chew.

    I've had a month off from the gym and omfg I went back yesterday. I'm weak af. But I can tell I still have a foundation from before.

    I had to drop from 100lb kettlebells to 40lbs. Just so I wouldn't pull anything stupid
    I was doing the water-resistant rowers, which was awesome but didn't have a "weight" technically so I'm not sure how I was doing on those. I did 3 sets of 30.
    I did barbell curls with a 40lb. 3 sets of 10.
    A 12lb medicine ball -- 5 sets of 10
    Leg press -- 45lbs on each leg, 3 sets of 10.

    and then 30 mins of cardio/treadmill.

    It was an overall good intro back into the gym but was disappointed I lost so much progress. I should be able to build it back up quickly tho.
