    Iida vs Tokoyami

Was re-reading some scenes and I noticed these two shared third place in the Sports Festival. Thought it was weird that they didn't get around to a battle for the bronze medal.

So who would win if they fought back then? And would the result be any different now?

Tokoyami would wipe the floor with Ida, no contest.

You sure? Iida blitzed Todoroki at the start of their fight.

fukuyamies shadow does not act on tokoyamis reactions. its autonomous and powerful enough to down adult villains both todoroki and bakugo at the same time where struggling with

    lida got nothing comparable

Wasn't that his full-power shadow? This fight would be in broad daylight and Bakugou managed to deal with it easily enough.

bakugo dealt with it due to spontaneous explosions to undo the shadows effectiveness almost completely, bakugo is a natural counter to tokoyami. regular daylight fights for the shadow (like other fights in the tournament) are still possible, and his autonomous behaviour is still warranted. and lida doesnt have a similar thing in his arsenal than bakugo does.

the big scary night shadow would be completely overkill, yeha

Even before taking advantage of the weakness, Bakugou was still dodging both it and Tokoyami throughout the fight. Thus it should be easier for Iida who has even more mobility.

thats not really comparable. when the shadow has to actively cover a significant distance to attack sure there may be the chance to dodge his attacks at first. but when tokoyamis shadow is more or less sticking to his host body and has to merely react to whatever close combat attack lida throws at him, the chance of lida landing a hit are slim to none. in the end its about landing a blow. and while lida may be able to dodge shadows offensive attacks at first, he has to actively get in to cause any form of damage, where the shadow has to basically simply cover a 1.7meter area - and can counter attack immediately
