    Dark Souls Remastered

Anyone bought this shit yet? How is it?

"For years he devoted himself to training and after he could no longer find strong foes, Mihawk joined the Warlords."

"Though Hawk-Eyes strikes fear into the hearts of those who follow the way of the sword, he looks forward to the future, to the day when he will meet the swordmaster that surpasses his rival 'Red Hair'."

"He rose to renown even before the Great Age of Piracy. Even now he reigns supreme as the World's Best in name and actuality, an exceptional master swordsman."

"He sits atop as the strongest, gazing down at his prey. The World's Strongest Swordsman!"

Already own the original release... And the remaster is honestly insulting. It's a cash grab. Shit even still has broken mechanics that were fixed in the original release (like chain backstabbing).

I wouldn't play it off sometime paid me
    Stay a while, and listen!

But to someone like me, who didn't ever play the original DS yet should I get it?

Oh... Sure. At the end of the day this remaster is considered shit only from the aspect of the original owners. If you're new, this stuff doesn't apply.

    Get it and have fun.

I aint going to buy the same 7 years old game with PS2 blood graphics and better looking fire on bonfires, checked the twitch streamers during the network test and the PvP is still a back stab fuckfest, From soft just did a Bethesda this is like the Skyrim remaster, the same game with the same shitty bugs and mechanics but with "enhanced" graphics, the DSFix is better the same way mods made the game look ten times better then Skyrim remastered did.

    0/10 no thanks.

The original is one of my all time favorite games.

Should I even bother with this?

So the only fight left is Gwyn, so I'll give some thoughts now.

    - The real highlight of the game is the world itself and the way areas end up connecting to each other. My jaw dropped every time I found a new way back to Firelink Shrine. Not being able to warp was rough at first but it forced me to get accustomed to each area, and eventually gaining the power to warp is a great reward after one of the toughest bosses in the game.

    - This definitely feels like the hardest Souls game, because of all the little touches they added. Your character is slower, the healing animation seems a bit longer, summoning comes at a greater cost than in later games, a lot of bosses have a 'trick' to them and you'll keep dying till you figure out what it is (the entire Nito boss is practically designed to make you shit yourself). My opinion might change a couple more playthroughs but as of now, this is the most sadistic game in the series.

    - Speaking of bosses, my favourite would be Artorias, naturally. Perhaps it's because of the game he's in, but he stands out a lot more when there aren't a dozen other boss fights just like him. Plus he's got the interesting lore and sick design. Was a pleasure to beat him after a few tries. Most difficult boss goes to the Four Kings, fuck those guys.

tl;dr the game's a classic and for good reason, if you've never played it then get it asap

You could technically run past most of the monsters there. That's what I did after my first playthrough, works like a charm. Rush down to the bonfire, kill the plank shield bitch (yes that's what I call her) and then rush some items in the toxic pool and after just rush to the boss.

Yeah the level design and overall world of Dark Souls is levels above that of Dks2 or Dks3 the world feels so unique and interconnected, a feeling that that I didnt get from the other souls games, theyre relatively bland compared to Dks.

I dont think I share the same opinion with u when it comes to difficulty though, I found Dks fairly easy overall because its basically the only game where I think shields actually work and the game isnt as punishing in my opinion, I still think the most punishing Dks game was Dark Souls 2 especially the Softs version of it. Dks3 is probably the easiest out of the three overall except for some bosses here and there like Midir, Gael, Frida etc, but still the roll spam is strong with this one, the fact that u can roll spam out of any sticky situation makes it fairly easy to get through some locations.
