Depends how Hara will remake history because after this war there should be another large one where Kanki decimates Zhao and kills Kochou. If Hara makes that a standalone arc, then he may not be promoted until after then.

It wouldn't surprise me if Hara somehow merges the 3 major wars into 2, just because having 4 Qin vs Zhao arcs back to back would be weird.

i see it happening this way as well. i don't claim to be well-versed in chinese history, but iirc. the battle where kan ki defeated ko chou was historically apart of the same campaign he lost to ri boku.

    Battle of Fei:
The battle of Fei was the first loss that Ying Zheng tasted during his rule. After capturing Ping Yang and Wu Cheng, the Qin army was marching towards the Zhao capital of HanDan. Li Mu was summoned back from Yan Men and ordered to defend Zhao from the Qin invaders. Leading his men from Yan Men, he met up with the HanDan army at YiAn, constructing fortresses and refuse to face the Qin army, waiting for the best chance to strike(similar to the tactic Li Mu used against the Xiong Nu at Yan Men). Wanting to end the battle quickly, Huan Yi led most of his men and attack the castle of Fei Xia nearby. With most of the Qin army out of their camps, Li Mu attacked the Qin camp with half of his army and forced Huan Yi to return. When Huan Yi returned, he was fighting a losing battle as Li Mu coordinated a pincer attack using half of his army currently stationed at Qin camp and the other half from the fortress. Huan Yi manage to escape with a handful of his men and fled. This victory over Qin also earned Li Mu the title of Lord Wu An.

ah, interesting. had thought it was all one campaign at first because he didn't return after he captured ping yang. weird that he didn't continue the siege after his landslide victory against ko chou.

Hu-zhe is Kochou. An old and respected general from Zhao's capital who we have yet to see.

    Which place is An yang?

Kanki's future is really uncertain. There are so many possible outcomes to his "escape".

Will he appear as a foe, fighting for another state for example the state of Yan? Will he be tracked down by Kyoukai who could seek to kill him for his atrocities now that he is no more protected by his rank? Will he simply disappear from history with a smirk on his face and resume his life as bandit?

I definitely think the Rigan boys will take part in the Fei battle, with Kisui and Batei personally slaying some Kanki commanders as a form of revenge.

When he loses the war, will he flee because embarrassment or will he be banished? Sei hasn't really shown the characteristics to banish someone for a loss.

I doubt Kanki's defeat will be as simple an affair as it was historically (which is honestly a fairly basic trap by Kingdom standards).

Hara will probably embellish it so he goes out like a beast. Still holding out for Riboku+SBS vs Kanki (and maybe Shin Hara insists on him tagging along)

I'd rather Riboku kill Kanki than the latter flee never to be seen again. Having him return at a later date would be amazing though. It's also entirely possible it won't even be Riboku that does it, he might just be at the HQ with Shibashou or someone else doing the attacking.

Imagine the meltdown if Kanki out plays Riboku only to walk into Houken

starting to wonder if we'll even get to see kan ki's loss here tbh

it's unlikely that shin will be participating in a battle that kan ki abandoned, and since the story is told from his perspective it raises some doubt that we'll see kan ki's crushing defeat; especially since it resulted in the near total annihilation of the qin army

This why I had the thought of masking it with another campaign. Like the current battle because it’s crazy that Kanki has literally done nothing this campaign so far.

Kanki and his goons will escape like they said they would, though Qin will somehow emerge victorious anyway. His lack of loyalty is the 'weakness' Riboku referred to. But Kanki is addicted to wafare by this point, so he'll want to get back in the game as soon as possible. Since they were mountain bandits originally, I can see them heading to Yan. By this point, Kanki is very well-known, so no doubt the Yan King will welcome them with open arms.

Once Qin have conquered Zhao (and perhaps Han aswell) they'll turn their attention to the mountainous region of Yan, where they'll discover that Kanki has been made Supreme Commander of their entire military. And who better to do battle with him than his former co-Vice General Ousen? It'll be a mountain battle for the ages.

And Kanki won't be able to run away this time. He knows he'll be executed for desertion if Qin capture him, so this is the best and only chance of stopping them before they conquer all of China. But when all is said and done, it'll come to a one-on-one between Shin and Kanki, and Shin, along with getting his first Great General kill, will finally defeat the man whom he's despised from the beginning, thus proving that Kanki's way of warfare was wrong all along.
