Maybe. Is that an option? Didn't even think about it.

@VICE; thanks so much; the issue was the battle effects slowing everything down! Now I can actually play this through. I'll have to wait to rep you more.

Yeah you can remove battle animations in the settings on the title screen, I think that does help with the problem

Helping you is more rewarding than kicking some noob contributor's butt who doesn't understand how to uncheck attachments.

I'm going to have to do some grinding since I'm getting demolished by Julia without my Marshtomp.

You'll probably get fried. I have mine around 14-17.

So, this is basically the squad I faced Julia with, but a few higher levels (needed to grind against her).

She had an Oricorio instead of an Emolga, who basically only used Air Cutter, so it was an addition that was easy to take out. She also had an Alo Geodude, but good ol' Mak doused it without problem.

I was able to put Julia away with some luck. Pops came in and used Fury Cutter against her Electrode, survived one Sonicboom, and then it missed its second one, allowing me to edge it out ever so slightly. This wasn't a hard gym, but just because of the team I'm choosing to use, and their levels, it could have been disastrous.

I think the one major difference in E17 will be that every 'boss' battle is going to contain a different type Pokemon then what we're used to seeing. Fern had a Sandile early on (to counter fire against his grass), Julia had a Alo Geodude (I guess technically electric), and Victoria had a Pichu (to counter against flying, I guess?).

currently inside the gym, the warning by the computer that gym leaders have 6 well leveled pokemon seems excessive :S

So I picked up from my last save which was actually episode 15. So I am starting episode 16 now where you have to sneak into Devon Corp to fight Team Meteor.

Its pretty rough to be honest. Not only are the battles somewhat hard but you also have to clear some annoying puzzles. There are a shit load of conveyer belt things and electric tiles that hurt your pokemon and can cause them to faint if you keep stepping on them.

I had to use all my potions to heal up before fights. Ground pokemon are the only ones that don't get damaged by those tiles. My one ground pokemon helped lol.

Fought Cain for a second time and I'm a little mad because they switched his Oshawott with a Popplio, so now we have the same Pokemon... His Grimer is also Alo version.

Not much a challenge with Florina; she has always been one of the weakest leaders. Pops (Kricketune) was able to run through her grass Pokemon.

Oh Taka, when will you learn? Cleared him surprisingly easily with Mak's Aqua Jet since his fucking Chatot ALWAYS gave me problems with Chatter.

Corey usually gives me fits, but Aether really came in clutch, especially against Crobat who KOs me a ton. Yawn, plus Acid Spray (with Corrosion Field plus), and then a couple of Sludges put him out; I was lucky he slept so long.

Knowing what I'm doing/2x the speed helps.

Cain appears a lot, Florina is basically gone until she helps out late in the story, Corey is the poison gym leader and gone, Taka is a conflicted Team Meteor guy.
