    Favorite artist?

If there is one thing that I think all manga readers love, it's the fantastic artwork you see as you read.

Out of all of the manga that you've read, who is your favorite artist?

Shima has always been my favorite. There's just something about his double page spreads that I love.

Toriko art is actually pretty good.

Miura and Inoue are two of my favorites personally. I like Inoue's art better even if Miura puts more effort into his.

Despite that Kubo doesn't really draw backgrounds - his character designs are gorgeous. I love them.

on a purely technical level? you can only really make a case for murata.

however art is not only technicality. it's a cliché response, but murata's art loses out in the personality department compared to artists with faulty art, intentional stylizing and so on. i think fukumoto is bizarro murata, his characters look like dog shit but his works have soul and the ugliness completely fits with the themes he covers in his works. making every character a caricature is also a conscious decision fukumoto makes, he actually has legit skill and is not a jobber who is just trying to cover up bad art with style as many artists do.

then there's obvious choices like inoue and asano, however both suffer extremely from same-face syndrome and the fact that once you've read one work, you've read everything in asano's case. also, asano traces a lot, so there's that. inoue is basically a fine artist who draws manga, i'd say he is the greatest artist the industry has to offer when it comes to traditional art skills.

or there's araki who gives no shits about anatomy in many cases and is the epitome of stylizing, even though he could very well draw anatomically correct. he just chooses not to for the sake of giving his manga more personality which is a perfectly fine trade-off imo.

obata's art has evolved even more since the death note days and platinum end can only be described as visually mesmerizing. but he shares the same 'problem' as murata, they lose out in expressiveness.

morikawa is maybe the greatest artist alive when it comes to conveying movement and action because of the literal decades he has under his belt when it comes to drawing action manga.

    miura's skill needs no commenting.

Q hashida's art is very expressive and unique, and really fits the decrepit and dystopian worlds she paints.

really, there's too many to list as all excel in different fields. however, to give the boring answer - murata is probably the best manga artist, inoue is the best traditional artist, and then it becomes subjective.

I would say Murata or Araki. Murata works very hard and is a very talented artist. Araki is like a european artist working as a mangaka.

i also like inoue and i'm currently reading nagai go's devilman franchise which has great artwork

regardless everyone knows that bastard!! has the best battle art

Murata, Obata, and Saeki for slick art, Inoue and maybe Miura for more realistic looking art
