    The Orville

Screw critics, this show is great!

Weak pilot aside which was good, it is a good show. Dramedy. It doesn't bore you.

    Thanks to Cake~

I'd prefer you google it. This is the world wide web after all.

But it's a spoof show on its general sense that elevates above being a parody

    Thanks to Cake~

    You would only seem stupid.

Dunno, google that. I think so? It's a fox series.

Give the show a try now.

    Here's something

Meet Bortus. Alien of a same-sex species. He has laid an egg

    Thanks to Cake~

How cruel of you, VICE, when have I ever done something stupid?

I shall check it out, I found it on hulu.
    Seth Macfarlane, eh?

So it will either be hilarious or suck.

As for Bortus, he is living the dream.
    Free breakfast.

Don't think the pilot defines the rest. I thought it was fine, then I saw the rest. Phew.

The egg is not for eating.

I see, you tend to have a strong taste in television, so I have high hopes -- ill tell you what I think after I watch it.

What a shame, eggs are somewhat expensive.

Im currently watching it, its ok, nothing special.

Its the kind of humor I would expect from Seth, 7/10.

    Ill watch more tomorrow.

The humor ain't the focus fortunately. You'll get plenty more in the next episodes. Not more humor, I mean intriquing stories and ideas. It has depth

Lets see: so far he's had Liam Neeson and Charlie Theron guest star. Jonathon Frakes has directed an episode.

The show definitely focus' a lot on the crew more than just the captain - or at least it balances it as much as it can.

Quite a lot of humor - good and bad - but still its a rather decent.

Like him or love him, Seth MacFarlane knows how to make a decent Star Trek homage show. That's why fans are loving this.

Please, This ain't EZ, grammar is not that big of a deal

Anyway, felt saying that I really enjoy the current year in Sci-fi television. Orville is old trek with humor, Discovery is new trek with real world baggage. We can see two distinct ways of creating a Star Trek show.

Had both been in the same vein I'd given up on discovery. Orville is that good

    Thanks to Cake~

    Apologies.

Agreed, but I think its more than that. All around TV has been fantastic this year, truly a glorious time we live in.
Orville is pretty good so far, I am keen to see where it goes.

    What is Discovery?
    Star Trek Discovery

Latest in the line of Star Trek shows.

It's criticized for not being in the same spirit and heart as the other shows before it. It's dark, brooding and depressing.

Star Trek has always been about how people in the 23rd century were able to put aside strife and other problems, and stand united. That lead to the federation of planets. It's always been a show where an alien world's problem is equivalent of an issue we face in today's society. Caste system, racism, transgender rights, what defines life, etc.

So many good episodes about ethical problems!

Orville has that, in its own way.

Discovery just doesn't or it has yet to reach the same feel

    Thanks to Cake~

Thanks for the elaboration. Maybe I'll have to check out Stat Trek. Probably going to get on Orville after FMA. Take a break from anime and what not. Hopefully Discovery gets better.

It's a pretty interesting little show. Lighthearted, but wants to tackle societal issues like the original series did.

I didn't think I was really going to like it, but it's got charm.

That's fair. Some of it falls a bit flat for me. Like the whole parents on screen thing didn't work for me.

However, the thin ass walls worked for me. lol
