My Hero Academia: Vigilantes (Spin-Off Series)

Do you guys all follow the Vigilantes spin-off manga? For a monthly spin-off series, it's really good, and provides some nice extra world-building for the story as a whole. I'd say it's definitely worth a read alongside the main series.

Interesting, the newest chapter of this series introduced a high-ranking American hero, one that looks to be closer to All Might's level compared any other hero that we've seen thus far. There's no telling if he'll have any bearing on the main story, but I doubt he'd be introduced like this without Horikoshi's blessing.

Do you think this is an indication Horikoshi will explore other countries in the manga then? Also, is this not written by him?

I'm honestly not sure as to how involved Horikoshi is or isn't with this series. Furuhashi, the guy who does the story for it, obviously must get some guidelines from Horikoshi on what he is or isn't allowed to do, since it supplied some background on Stain, and even introduced the Quirk enhancement drug that Chisaki's group has been using, but that's as far as I know.

The American Hero certainly could be a way to lay some groundwork for exploring other countries in the main series, or it could just be that Horkikoshi didn't care whether or not he was introduced. I'd wager that it could go either way.

Since the guy from Vigilantes is closer to Endeavor value-wise, I'd like to see if there's an American equivalent to All Might, and what kind of influence he would have on students from a top hero school in the US. It would be interesting if he significantly differed from All Might in terms of what type of hero he would be, while being a positive role-model for up-and-coming heroes like All Might is.

Started and finished the 15 chapters I saw available over the past two days.

Great spin-off series. I actually prefer it to the main series and I hope this continues for some time.

You guys need to get up to date on this. The past few chapters have been awesome.

Kissmanga doesn't have the three newest chapters, so here are links to them:

Knuckleduster is the best. Killing your own daughter so that you can bring her back to life, that's fucking hardcore.

I need to reread this series. I haven't read it in a while, and unfortunately I don't remember much of it. I think I've stopped reading when the American hero appeared.

    Yes.

Just don't expect anything overly amazing.

Sure. It's surprisingly good for a spin-off series, way better than I expected going into it.

The spin-off reads more like an American comic book to me, so I enjoy it a bit more than the main series. It doesn't hurt it's just a bundle of pastiches of American superhero comics.
