I think you'll enjoy The Way of Men by Jack Donovan and The Way of the Superior Man by David Deida. They talk about what is the root of masculinity and what it means to be a man, and why this has been reduced to a caricature in this day and age.

I'll check them out.

There are a lot of other interesting facts in this book as well. For example, did you know that testosterone decreases in men after their child is born for a few weeks? As testosterone decreases, estrogen and oxytocin production increase and this increases the man's ability to read facial cues and over emphasize with the child. Makes sense this would happen when the infant is most vulnerable, so you can read from their expression if something is wrong.
