    Is Pride The worst Sin?

I mean think about it. It can get you in trouble quicker than any other sin and it's a delusion over yourself.

Sloth is pretty bad, however, I cannot think of any other sin that more flawed and causes more harm to yourself than Pride.

In regards to transgression against God, yes, but besides that I'd say no.

    According to FMA it's pride.

Hate, greed, etc. are much worse. Pride can be good or bad.

Yes it's pride, that's why he was the strongest homunculus.
You think I was going to use my filthy Muggle father’s name forever? I, in whose veins runs the blood of Salazar Slytherin himself, through my mother’s side? I, keep the name of a foul, common Muggle, who abandoned me even before I was born, just because he found out his wife was a witch? No, Harry — I fashioned myself a new name, a name I knew wizards everywhere would one day fear to speak, when I had become the greatest sorcerer in the world!

This. That's the only reason why it is considered the worst.

That's not exactly true, either. They all carry the same weight. If anything, you could argue envy as being more "important" in that context, since it was the first sin.

As for us, I'd say envy and greed are the most dangerous ones. They are what forces people to take everything and anything from one another.

You're right, got a bit mixed up there. The original sin was Satan being prideful and boasting himself as an equal to God, the second was his envy of Adam.

While none are to be underestimated, I'd say greed and envy, and pride by extension, are more dangerous for society.

Sloth is the worst on an individual level, when youre talking about far reaching consequences it probably is pride and greed

    thoughtless ... idiotic ...

you do not differentiate between pride and arrogance.

    - - - Updated - - -

strength, intelligence, knowledge, influence and technically reputation. these are the aspects that you can pack your pride with, however.

If you don't stand out in either of these, then you're a foolish fool being arrogant and digging his own grave.

    arrogance isn't a sin though

and standing out or being talented on something doesn't justify being arrogant anyway

it isn't a sin, neither does it add any privilege anyways. on the contrary, it's a disease.

standing out obligate people to accept the fact that you're arrogant but with its fancy name - pride.
why would you dignify a professor and not bother with a peasant, is for the same reason.

so arrogance is the attempt of showing pride without packing it up, simply.

    imo of course

Pride is the worst sin, and the original with Lucifer thinking very highly of himself, and refused to be humble towards humanity

i've never said arrogance is anything pleasant. But the discussion was about sins, technically, so idk why you brought that up.

i'm not in the mood for philosophy but well, anyways...

if you're truly higher than everyone else in a way or another, then that's that. the sole process of you expressing the source of highness makes you prideful.
however, you don't decide whether you're higher, it's what the traditions implies. if you think you are, but people doesn't, then you're an arrogant punk.

usually you trade committing sins for an extra utility or a pleasure.
