Jellal got thrashed by August

Gildarts put up a fight

both got thrashed by August. we didn't even see Jellal's fight w/ August.

the only thing we saw is Jellal's beaten face while August's unscatthed which is literally exactly the same thing as Gildarts having wrecked face while August have unscatthed.

Gildarts is only around as strong as Serena when he was alive who got blitzed and oneshotted by Acno. Jellal did tag Acnologia when he tried to dodge, and was blocked when he tried to attack another dragonslayer like Serena.

give or take Jellal indeed has better showing than Serena which is around Gildarts level.
