Strong contender for being the greatest film ever made, IMO. The story isn't just abstract, there is a clear narrative - it's just told to the viewer through the dreams and unreliable memories of an unstable/delusional protagonist. It's quite brilliant.

    Saw Red Sparrow.

Kinda slow but with brutal scenes sprinkled between.

I wonder how much they paid Jennifer Lawrence out of the 69 million budget to have explicit naked scenes a few times and still have Jeremy Irons and Mary-Louise Parker in the casting.

Dialogue was clunky and the relationships felt forced and false half of the time. But it wasn't a bad movie, just a pretty okayish movie.

    6/10

When it comes to pure cinema Jaws is top 5 of all time. Even the dialogue is still godtier (Indianapolis monologue)

Is it a bit telling that your median rating of the mediocre WCI One Piece chapter outstrips your rating for one of the greatest cinematic achievements in human history

    Taxi Driver 9/10
One of my favorite movies of all time. A dark story of a taxi driver played by Robert Deniro. A twisted tale that questions good and evil.

I've seen this one many time. It's a very solid movie. Not quite as good as goodfellas, but still a classic.

I thought it was more a movie about determinism and even the stuff about morality (or lack thereof) and lack of penance or whatever were connected to the central determinism theme

Only because I've read the book. And I feel the book is better.

Yeah it could be. I took from the film that sometimes the lines between good and evil become blurred. Like someone has a righteous cause, but the way they get there requires doing evil things.
