Martin awoke in his sleeping chambers with an ominous feeling overwhelming him. The young pioneer gazed through his observation window to behold a sight most grand. The giant red Marble in the sky lit up his eyes and started a fire in his belly. The young man felt a sense of accomplishment making it this far in his life; he assured himself he wouldn't let this opportunity go to waste. More importantly he wouldn't let his first interplanetary trip be his last. Martin was previously impressed by the advance technology on board the spacecraft, though the allure of a new planet broke the often drab deafening darkness of the nights sky and became the new source of his appreciation.

The well furnished room suddenly filled with light, the observation window closed with some sort of metal shutters that Martin couldn't identify. "What the hell?" Martin Murmured. The room doors suddenly opened exposing the hallway and a well decorated military officer. "I apologize for the sudden intrusion though all staff is needed in command shuttle!" The man proclaimed. Martin noticed the man's appearance, tall with a muscular build and surprisingly well groomed for being on a long space flight; he was also well decorated with pins for military combat. " My name is Duane, I'm one of this ship's.."

"Performance Operations Facilitators also known as POF officers; I'm well aware of your title and duties! Don't underestimate my information gathering abilities." Martin interrupted. The man smirked in response. "Believe me underestimating you is the last thing I was prepared to do! Being a part of your generation under the organizations care is foreboding enough but to be hand picked for a mission of this size surely you re nobody to be trifiled with!" Duane said. "Nigga please just gen mon." Martin scoffed.

The man stared back at Martin confused. "Please just speak regular old dumb black folk I stopped understanding ebonics back in the early 30's, I may live in Detroit but I'm just a regular denizen; I only speak english!" The man replied sarcastically. "Ha," Martin giggled. "Honestly it's the same lingo black folk have been using since 'ever, now that kids have become more cultured you just add different languages in their to seem smart" The man proclaimed.

"That's probably true but still why have you closed the window, I was enjoying the view!" Martin laughed. "This part of the ship is no longer needed, we're to meet in the control shuttle and from their your suits will take you down to the surface!"

Martin nodded and the two headed down the hall way towards the previously locked Elevator shuttle. "Aren't you excited this is the first leg into your actual mission." Said Duane. "What would you know about my actual mission?" Martin replied coldly.

Duane noticed the man before him turned hostile and conceited as he came closer and closer to his destination; where he was cheery and excited before, now he acted completely unmarred by pleasantries. Duane had seen this many times before not from his fellow soldiers instead by those closer to the head directory; the decision makers who often accomplished miraculously things under the guidance of that man.

The two made it outside the doors of the main hall; Martin could see other pioneers walking in and recognized his best friend Emmanuel. "Before I give you your pass card I have one question?" Duane said as he searched his person for the card.

"Who are you loyal too? People of color, the oppressed, the citizens of Detroit and the Hive? I know it's not my right question to you but seeing as I serve under a man who most of the world doesn't even believe in.." Duane couldn't even finish his question but he asked in the sincerest way possible almost exaggeratedly to show how much he had been pining for an answer.

"I'm not loyal to anyone, I care about one thing and that's the future and seeing how much my actions can affect it. I owe 'that' man a debt bigger then I could ever repay, it pains me that he's accomplished more in his short life then I could do with three lives. I get bored easily, I'm simply just looking for a place that can satisfy me even if only for a little bit!"

A young man walked over and picked up a small card and handed it to Martin. "I believe he was looking to give this to you." He said and walked off. Martin headed into the hall using his pass card and took a seat next to one of the pioneers he didn't know. He thought briefly about finding Emmanuel but reconsider. This isn't the academy up here he would have no friends his main focus would be on concentrating on his objective. Even the usual temptation of beautiful women barely fazed him, up here looks and charm wouldn't mean anything. He became frustrated with the thought that he might be forced to deal with somebody less than fully competent. On one hand as brilliant as he was he knew very little on the technology that brought him so many memorable meters from home, he was accomplishing his dream but not through means of his own.

Suddenly the lights dimmed and a woman walked into the center booth. "Welcome, congratulations, Fursa sa'ida!" The woman was obviously Egyptian and this annoyed Martin to no end, she seemed very proud of it to. This is what he had been afraid of, from his short time in Egypt he had grown a strong distaste for modern day Egyptians especially those who were religiously involved which in concluded by looking at the spiritual necklace the woman was wearing. Though it was not his place to object, she was obviously there to explain something important; her accent was wearing a turn on his nerve as well, if she were speaking Arabic at least he could stifle his hate enough to tune in.

" Now she's speaking bout her hometown and how she met Akwol!" Martin thought to himself. He was know completely zoning out the noise coming from her mouth. Only when she introduced the captain did he start to regain his focus. The man was darkskinned and talked fluent American English. From a brief look at the man he could see he was determined and accomplished simply by the way he held himself; this didn't impress Martin though. Something about him made him mad, it was a mixture of his appearance, demeanor and sense of authority. Martin wouldn't pretend it wasn't because he wasn't already annoyed.

Adrenaline rushed as Martin stifled his urge to pick up the steel chair he was lounging on and chug it towards the mans head. The actions in his mind became humorous as he thought of more and more disrespectful and offensive ways he could show his dis-contempt with their presentation. He looked around for Emmanuel only to see him fully engaged into the speech. Throwing something at his head would have to suffice. Martin pulled his pass card out and tossed it at Emmanuel immediately regretting what he just did. Not only did it hit the woman sitting next to his attended target but the whole room was in full glare of him.

"This is what I mean, I won't accept childish behavior as such; This is a delicate mission with delicate equipment. The importance of this flight's success outweighs greatly the individual importance of any one member. I will run a tight shift, I will see to it that their will be a project manager on the surface to oversee each project; I expect a certain amount of discipline and self control which from what has been showed will take some work. I accepted this mission with the understanding that I would be piloting a ship full of young adults, So please respect that I not only have a responsibility to the crew of this ship but the condition in which the former and the shuttle are returned. The captain explained staring directly at Martin through the part of his speech that was directed at him.

At this point Martin was drowning in embarrassment and shame, half of his self loathing was because he lost concentration after previously stating the importance it would have on his upcoming journey, the other half because he had mad a bad first impression and he knew how important that was on a mission because of his many voyages. Though he quickly blocked all such thought from his head as he became quietly livid. It was their faults he acted such a way, dredging on with their boring positioning and atoning the atmosphere with a sense of mediocrity. Martin hated nothing more than people with limited mindsets, such things were contagious, if he didn't act quickly the pace of the next year would be set and he would forever be know as a idiot with no attention span.

Martin was staring the man down, most of the attention was still on him to see how he reacted. He quickly pondered the possibility of standing up and giving the two a piece of his mind; He instead stared hatefully to mad to even speak. Time went on as different speakers came and went the Egyptian speaker took stage once again and announced they would all watch a video recording of the man himself,Akwol! As the POF officers prepared the screen to ply the video Martin felt stifled, he felt like he was drowning again. The people in the room numbered significantly more POF officers than actual Pioneers. Martin had it.

"They sat down with us as if they're peers, lectured us as if they we're in charge, laid out guidelines like they knew better than us!" Martin stood up quickly knocking over his heavy but padded steel chair. " "My name is Martin Ramirez, I'm a Bee Academy graduate, An officer in the Royal Family Organization and a Chief Pioneer on the Mission "Liit". I won't allow you to look at that video! The captain laughed looking at Martin, although he felt no pressure from the mans words he was off-put by the intensity of his stare; it was as if a wolf atop a hill was studying him. While keeping attention on the situation at hand his sub-conscious dove in and out of grievous memories of his childhood.

A boy yet untouched by the horrors of the world only grieved by his lust of adventure and his inability to explore them, wanders of from the watch of his bearing mother. Rightfully so as she had fell asleep and given him free reign to the wonders of life, not to mention left the front door cracked as so the beautiful autumn breeze could kiss her house with it's sweet decadence. The beauty of it all would be the young boys first memory, the air temperature just right so that he could venture into unknown without thought of finding shelter or attention from someone who would care.

As he climbed the hill just outside his house the small hands could feel the softness of the dirt and the soft rustles of the leaves that decorated the ground. Nothing could describe the joy of experiencing something new unaided by the restrictions of his normal life. Why don't we always proceed as this walking aimlessly only letting our curiosity be feed. He knew not the dangers he would behold or the subtleties of nature, only unrestricted freedom. The presence of the beast was only a quick change in his mood, just as easily another source of amusement. Even when the dog jumped and knocked him over he did not cry. Though it may have looked as if he were about; only when the Rottweiler bit his arm and started to drag him did he find an unpleasantness.

To startled by the pain he was in shock until he noticed his own blood looking up at him from the leaves. He started to wail. Even as a young child he taught this might be it! I broke the natural order I wondered away from my mother who loved me. Now wailing and screaming he doesn't remember much but the beautiful but horrifying stride as a grey wolf came bearing down on him.

Tough in patches he did remember a few things from his experience. One the brief sound of the two beast fighting, next the sight of the wolf dragging the dog's mangled body into what he remembers as a sloping field, an encirclement created by the forest, he remembered the sounds of the wolf biting through the dogs bone as if it was twig. The red and purple carnage that was it's insides, the screaming of his mother when she picked him up and ran. The wise, cold and seemingly judgmental stare of the wolf as he stood up and chased after them.

As he grew into adulthood he often wondered how that incident represented his life, was he still the young boy. Maybe he was the dog, he thought himself as a selfless protector. One thing he was certain of was he was free. He was tamed wanting nothing to do with the boundaries beyond the normal. Man had created a world he could function and strive in why would he ever want to go beyond the hill where the wolf lies. The captain wondered how much time had passed who knew it wasn't much, maybe ten seconds, perhaps fifteen. He noticed the young man was still talking. He was determined to ignore any request from him. He had went through to much in life becoming a physicist to not see this mysterious Akwol.

Then it became clear why he remembered that event. This kid was the kid trying to get over the hill, he doesn't know his place as of yet. "What authority do you have to ask us to leave?" The Egyptian said. " He just told you." Said Emmanuel still sitting down looking perplexed by their confusion. The captain would fix his problem! "Does anybody else have a problem with us being here for this video?" As expected the crowd was silent. " I don't care what you do with this ship, hell I don't care what you do, with the supplies, my belongings, the tools, the memos, our clothes, gear, or fucking what you do to yourself at night! I only care that you get me down to that surface and get the fuck out so I can watch that video!" The POF officers smiled as they looked at each other.

"Or what?" The woman asked. Emmanuel stood up as did another pioneer followed by two more. "Are you fucking serious?" The captain let slip out. "You think we would be fazed by threats by a bunch of kids?" She questioned. "This is preposterous, you bastard, are you stupid? We're a 200 million miles from home and your challenging me on my authority you little turd, I'm forty-seven years old I've been on seven space flights; I helped design the re-entrance program for fucks sake." He bellowed. Martin was now walking towards him. "What the fuck is he doing?"

Duane nodded and the POF officers turned on the lights and headed out the now opening hall room doors. Other scientist also exited getting the hint from stares from numerous people. Duane placed his hand on the captains shoulder as if to say he would be the one to escort him physically if needed. "God help this crew if this is the kind of behavior we allow!" The Egyptian woman said under her breath before she left. Duane closed the doors after of course he looked up at Martin and smiled shaking his head at martins egregiousness.

"Thank god those faggots are gone!" Martin smirked. The pioneers mostly rolled their eyes some even cracking a smile at his antics, though most of the people who knew him covered their faces suggesting they didn't even know him. Emmanuel made it clear to stand on the other side of the room. Their we're even some faces that looked at him with disgust and or amazement at his childish behavior. It wasn't a good first impression he had made on his mission at least not yet but it was better than having to listen to people he didn't like for extended periods. "Emmanuel can you get the video to play? Don't ignore me nigga!" "Shut up"! Patrice said. A large stocky man. Martin was easily 6,1, Patrice looked down on him.

    Martin smiled and looked away.

"Don't worry Emmanuel these machines are familiar to me, they work off of brain signals. They're built in Hungary using new technology the organization is working on in the area. A woman distinguished herself from the crowd, her long kinky hair swayed each and every way as if it had a mind of it's own. Her presence was enough to make men and woman stop and stare.

"Fuck!" Martin whispered to himself. "Was Tihara here the whole time?"

The video started. The man's face was hidden but his voice was Remanencent of Dikembe Mutombo" This thing running, ok, good job on being picked and whatnot. I trust you got rid of the nonessential in the room? If not I'm sorry nonessentials." You could hear laughter in the background of the video, it was the epitome of unprofessional. The video appeared as if it was shot with a camera phone.

"Most have you have met me at least once I don't see a need to be formal with men and woman I've seen grow up under the care of the very organization I founded. The POF officers and various other workers aboard my state of the art spacecraft have no idea what I look like or the inner workings of the organization; I basically didn't have the heart to tell them they're just chauffeurs for you guys. By doing my dirty work you have proven to me that your ready to take command of this project. Things won't be the same when you return home, so value your time on Mars as if it's your second chance at life!"

Your in charge of your own projects, make them your own how you spend this next year is decided by you." Just like that the video was over, no grandiose statement or information, Not even advice on the upcoming nuance. Most expected this Akwol being a man of few words allowed others to explain things for him, one thing for certain nobody better represented him better than Martin and the young pioneers.

Martin was on his way to his temporary quarters when he saw A'yan sketching something out in space, though more importantly he could enjoy the scenery that had before been snatched away from him. When A'yan caught a glimpse of Martin her eye's widened with excitement, she tried so hard not to smile her cheeks started to ache. "I never thought I'd get to see you again"! A'yan said. "Well it has been a long time, shit, infact I can't even remember how long it's been". Martin replied.

"Wait are you saying you remember me"? A'yan paused with anticipation, she their was no way he could remember such in insignificant event. "Nope, I've been all around the globe and seen thousands if not million faces! Though I would never forget something like you. Those big eye's with a cute little face, and the way you're so poised but in a natural way." A'yan looked back through the observatory window."Is he flirting with me, god, this isn't the same boy I observed twelve-years ago. I guess he really is grown now, he's probably got other things other than art on his mind these days".

She was disappointed but still excited that the reoccurring character in her thoughts was finally here. Of course academy men and men from the 'triangle' were better but they're men just the same. " I don't mean to let you down, I'm not big on art, I'm not even that deep. I remember you staring at me after I said something at an art museum in DC." "I wasn't staring at you"! A'yan explained.

"Yes you were, I remember seeing your reflection through one of the pieces"! Martin laughed. " Ah yes, I heard you we're quite conceited from some people while in Detroit''. " It's nice to see my reputation succeeds me! I always wondered why you never said anything but I know now it's because you hadn't learn English yet." " So you've been doing your research on me then too I see". A'yan asked. "Not really but you're really hot topic among a lot of adults back at the academy."

"Well this might seem silly but I've always wanted to meet you! You said something, that really changed my life. Well if it wasn't for Akwol I would be a totally different person anyway! Well not a different person but you know what I mean!" She said. Martin simply looked at her confused. " I always wanted to move to America since I was a little girl, even though my mother who I loved and trusted told me it was a crude, depressing place. Even though I loved my family I thought the same about where I lived. I don't know what it was that I didn't like. When Akwol first offered my father to take me to the academy I was skeptical

in fact I hated America, I hated everything. I didn't want to go back home, not to Lebanon or Mecca, I didn't even want to visit places I had once dreamed about.

"I grew to detest everything, I feel I had no place in the world. The very idea of growing up anywhere turned my stomach, that is until one day I heard a little boy ranting about an art piece he didn't like while on tour t the national gallery of artwork in Washington, D.C."

"As we come towards the ending of the tour we will visit an exact replica of the most iconic art piece in history, Da Vinci's La Gioconda or Mona Lisa as you're more familiar with. This piece is the most, sung of, written about, parodied and admired portrait the world around! Martin was at the apex of the crowd walking reluctantly with his mother's hands guiding him by the shoulders. He was continuously showing his disregard for having being there by unconsciously embarrassing his mother with his frustrated antics. " This piece is truly a testament to the science in the art world." The curator announced. "That's not art!" Martin objectified.

The curator paused. "It seems like we have a critic among us. Well then why don't you come up here and tell us what art truly is?" He amused. Even with his mothers tight grip numbing his shoulder Martin couldn't pass an opportunity to amuse himself, playing the role of innocent child he could bad mouth the audience. "Art should be cool!" The curator looked as his mother and snickered. "Yes well.."

"It should be something hard to obtain, it should make people scared!" At this point he had everyone's attention. " It shouldn't be something beloved by everyone it should invoke adventure make people uneasy about their own existence, incite fear and excitement, cause discontent.."

"Like you!?" the curator interrupted. The small crowd rippled with light laughter. " Most of all it should be beautiful, I mean it's cool she smiling and all but who really wants a picture of some old chubby white lady hanging up in the living room?" A'yan giggled charmed by outlandish statments. The spectators including her mother were not so amused. Martin's mother quickly excused the two and took him a more secluded spot to talk to him.

"Ow! what was that for" Martin yelled after being smacked. "Martin you can't go around talking like that, you're making people uneasy. I don't know where you got that from!" She complained. "I don't like this stupid place all the art here sucks!" He replied. "Martin what do you like? You don't like anything, sometimes I wonder what alien sent you to me cause you don't like nothing here on earth."

" I remember that speech like it was yesterday; I knew when I heard it I wanted to grow up where 'he' came from. Though I didn't believe you we're raised like that! It's just who you were?" "

When I look back I can't believe my father let me move to America. Most of my family and friends were against it because of my high "birth right" in the Saud family. Nevertheless Akowl was good friends with my father, as my mother so elegantly put it I was being sold for "nigger dreams". She said. Martin flinched at her words.

"When I joined the academy I was helpless; I had to rethink my whole way of looking at things. I was treated as regular resedent." "That's normal, thirteen year ago when I joined the Academy the world was changing, everyone had to get use to it. My life before the academy still seems like a dream. My mother tried to pull me out several times because of controversy. Though who would have ever guessed that big headed, Big eyed little girl would have ever become the beautiful chickpea I see before me now." Martin laughed as he stood up and ruffled A'yan's silky long hair. "Chick pea" was a slightly vulgar term often used in Detroit by the youth that partakes in harassing the large onset of foreign immigrants that moved to Detroit in the late 20's.

It was fully intended to upset A'yan. A'yan smacked Martin's hand away and stared intently at her unfinished art work. Martin slumped off down the hall. "Seems he hasn't changed, I wonder if he would like my art?" A'yan wondered smiling as she continued sketching.

As martin passed the Kitchen's ready served station and approached the dining area he heard loud arguing. His long time friend Jack was being yelled at by Patrice. The two men towered over the young pioneer trying to stop them. " They asked me to come on this fucking mission! If anybody isn't needed it's some shit karate man like you!" Said Patrice. " Are you done? No, please keep screaming your head off you twat waffle, I'll stand here and witness how stupid you are. Jack replied. Patrice was now completely livid; he stared intensely as he stepped in Jack's face giving full challenge to Jack's manhood.

Jack who was leaning against a counter enjoying the altercation turned serious as well. Fighting wasn't something to look down upon especially in black males it's a great way to solve differences, not the preferred method but it was a time tested trial. Though Martin couldn't let the Jack he knew get into a fight with someone he valued somebody he hoped to gain friendship with. For the simple fact that Jack or 'Knuckles' as he was also known back home would just as happily put an man in a wheelchair for the rest of his life rather than just knock him down or unconscious.

It wasn't cruel or at least not to the two they always rationalized. They weren't bad people they didn't start fights or provoke altercations so if someone messed with them Jack had the right to respond with as much force as he wanted. Patrice may have towered over Martin who was tall himself but as big as he was he still nothing impressive compared to Jack. Jack was about three percent body fat with 'stupid' muscle everywhere.

He didn't have a lot of facial hair he kept it cut. He was also sporting a tapered fade that was not to long ago braids but he cut them for the space flight. He was dark skinned though it was all encompassing as actual dark shaded people would still call him brown or 'Mocha'. His appearance and mannerisms while seemingly conservative or mild proved other wise when confronted with bullshit.

His height and tone when he decided to act 'ghetto' was enough to intimidate about anyone not knowing enough to not mess with him in the first place. You couldn't tell how muscular he was the way he dressed in loose fitting clothing though the most misleading concept about the man was his casual demeanor. It was often joked that he seemed like a geeky white black gangster. He seemed like your average black college student struggling between two cultures.

"It was actually quite the opposite he had such an established character that he could say anything he wanted without fear of being mistreated. Even as a kid he would fight anyone who dared to mistreat him or bully him because he was different. This created a bravado within him. Martin walked over to show Jack some love. " Hey brother, it's been a min." Martin said hugging Jack. "It's good to see you bro, Seems like you still known for stirring things up but let me guess.." "Gen Mon!" They both said.

Patrice was disgusted by the conversation. 'Dye gon gen mon' was a haitian proverb they we're abusing. Ever since Detroit became a major Economic power in 2027 they had started making ominous and eccentric plays around the world. The world had taken notice of them not only being a big contender in the economical market but much more threatening we're seemingly gaining independence from America entirely.

Normally such an uprising would only be of interest of surrounding countries that would be directly involved this wasn't true in this case because it was a 'black' uprising in America no less. It was almost lore how fast this 'imaginary' society was growing, if it was funny enough that the once broken city of Detroit had bounced back from it's bankruptcy to become the third richest city in the world but was also leading the world in technological advancements; then the water cooler rumors that a secret society was collaborating with other nations was equally in bad taste.

Conspirators and right wing extremist often bashed the mysterious city for capitalizing trades, opening solider academies, and planing revolutions around the world. Though that was often laughed upon by the rest of the world it was undeniable that the denizens of Detroit were in fact immigrating into Africa, Haiti's, India, South America and Dubai. It would become even further discredited because of the laughable notion that the mastermind behind this global uprising was an benevolent, genius, savior and paragon of hope the infamous Akwol. He was Martin Luther king and Black Dynamite in the same package.

Well popular opinion varied widely from mockery or parodying to admiration or just plan annoyance, with Patrice it was no secret how he felt about the intruders.

"Martin, I can respect the stand you made for us back in that conference room, most of us don't even realize the importance of us taking control of this mission. Don't think it's over though, I overheard the P.O.F officers and of the ship engineers talking about what you did." Jack said

    "Yea and?" Martin replied.

"They have full intentions to hold authority over this mission; they might see what you did as a mutiny or something."

    "Yea and?" Martin repeated.

"Just watch your back things might get out of hand"! Martin nodded his head to show that he understood. "I'll do something later it's best to let the dust settle on these things," He noticed Patrice staring at him coldly and smirked before he left out he noticed the woman he had been previously been ignoring. It wasn't like him to completely pass over somebody of interest. Upon further inspection it was clear to him why he had trivialized her existence. She wasn't like your average academy female.

Her hair was long or short cut, her body wasn't well defined and she lacked a certain grace that he was accustomed to from people of his standing. Even the way she spoke was normal, sort of the same way Patrice was different by not being actually different. "What's your name?" Martin asked.

"Me," She asked confused. "My name is ashley!" "Ashely, seriously!?" Martin scoffed. "Yea, is that suppose to be weird?" She questioned with a disgusted look on her face. Martin glanced over to Jack to see if he had some kind of explanation for this conundrum who in-turn just shrugged. Martin had had enough, the entire day had gotten away from him, the concept of time was sketchy but as far as he was concerned it had been a long day.

As he searched through the authorized parts of the large spacecraft he finally found what he was searching for, a door with his name on it. Martin pulled out his pass card and searched for an infrared scanner to open the door. When he found something that sort of fit the description his card didn't work. " Ah, it's for my thumb," Martin said as he pressed his thumb agindt the cold machinery. As the door opened and Martin walked in he found that his accommodations were once again above his expectations.

"Not bad a bed a bookshelf what look to be a tv and a bathroom. Though why this much for a living space I won't be using for more than a short time..." Martin was startled by what sounded like water sloshing from his bathroom. "Who's in there," Martin asked.

"I never would have thought you were the kind of man who talked to himself, my name is Oya MD and ND." Oya said as she walked from the bathroom over to Martin. Oya stood at about 6'2 an inches or two above Martin. Her body was a beautiful dark mahogany and her hair was kinky but long shiny. She was very buxom but fit all in the same, though most appealing was her beautiful big dark brown eyes. Martin was almost over taken by her beauty but at the same time annoyed by her promiscuous approach.

"You're getting water all over my floor," Martin said. Oya was hardly fazed by his feigning of interest. She instead walked over to his closet and opened it. " I have three questions," Martin said as he sat down on his bed and took off his boots. " What did you hope to accomplish by coming here? Did you come here trying to claim me or something,"

"No let me guess my field of study interest you and you want to get on my good side?" Martin question. "No," she replied seaching through his wardrobe. "Did you think I was one of the cool kids and you want to establish some kind standing with me?" Martin laid down in his bed as he prattled on. He was taking enjoyment out of guessing. "Is it because of what I did earlier to the P.O.F officers?"

" If you're gonna ask me questions then at least let me answer them." Martin turned his head and looked at the woman as she bent over to pick up a piece of clothing she dropped. He knew he shouldn't have, Martin was use to being around beautiful woman, his heart had grown indifferent to the charms of beauty. He could care less what they did he wouldn't allow them to get over on him or manipulate him. He was immune to such advances.

Though as cunning and heartless as he was he still had a weakness. A perfectly shaped ass would still prove a deadly temptation and with what Oya was packing not even Martin could guess what would transpire if she used it against him. "I saw you talking to Duane Bey outside the control room, I'm not going to lie I thought you were kind of cute but I didn't come to try and tempt you or anything."

"I just thought you looked interesting, more so than anybody else"! She said as she put out some workout shorts designed for Martin and a tight boys shirt. "So if you saw somebody else more interesting you would shown up in their bedroom"? "Maybe, I don't really focus on what would happen if reality changed. Martin liked her answers. He was still determined to kick her out when she was done talking but he no longer disliked the woman. He had to remember that she was an academy woman who were known for acting methodically. They weren't your average bitches for sure but in the end they were all just 'women' in his book.

Martin had been with woman of many races from high class to low class from all over the world. Some we're better than other but in the end at his age once you get down to it they're simple creatures. "More importantly how did you get in?" I couldn't even use my passcard to get in I had to scan my finger."

"I graduated the academy at an early age, I was born in Africa but moved here at an early age with my sister. I always wanted to be a doctor but my mentors saw that I was more talented with machinery and electronics. So Akwol paid for me to go to Harvard to study medicine and minor in engineering." She said laying down in the bed with Martin looking up at the ceiling with him. Martin looked over to her barely concealing how annoyed he was. He stood up and walked over to the dresser.

"How long have you known Akwol?" He asked. "Is this your final question, you said you only had three if I recall correctly." "Well it's four now so if you don't mind." he said rudely. "Not long, I met him about a year and a half ago when his wife introduced us!"

"Akwol is married!?" Martin damn neared screamed. "Well not exactly, I don't think they're married but I know they've been together for over fifteen years and she does wear a wedding ring." Martin walked over to the bed and grabbed Oya by the arm gently. "Ok it's time to go!" Martin could tell she didn't want to leave yet but she didn't resist. Before she could be escorted out she grabbed Martin on the shoulder.

"Why do you want to get rid of me so quickly, I thought we could talk longer." Martin thought on it quickly. "You seem like an interesting person, I wish I had met you under better circumstances but I don't like the way you came at me. It was annoying." Oya only smiled at him mockingly."

"You're acting like a church boy but that's something I know you're not. You must like girls that act more conservatively?" "No they annoy me too?" "Annoy you, I think that's rude!" She said. "Well I'm a rude guy!"Martin smiled.

"Don't get my wrong I don't care if you're promiscuous or conservative, I just don't like surprises and I value my alone time! I don't want you to think I have something against you but in honesty I don't know what to think. It doesn't really matter though since I want to have some alone time before we depart for the surface,"

"I had fun though we should talk again sometimes, next time have some clothes on tell me when your coming." Martin said as he opened the sliding doors. Martin gently pushed the girl out, surely enough he will still hypnotized by her goods looks. He couldn't get the image of her sexy abs that were almost as defined as his or her soft gravity defying ass of his mind.

He was the kind of man that liked surprising other people either by shocking them with the words he said or doing things they wouldn't expect; he was not one to like being surprised or to have people poke fun at him. As Martin watched as she walked away he noticed the woman look at him curiously wondering about the shenanigans she was witnessing. Another beauty appear before him.

Not nearly as tall as Oya and much lighter. Her breast and ass we're much smaller and her face was just as breathtaking. <describe girl later while you figure what ex girlfriend you want to base her off of, lets be honest all you exes are crazy bitches find some new girl to base her off of>

Kya<name well probably be changed along with jacks>

" I didn't think you would with somebody perhaps I'll come back later"! Kya said. Martin finally realized how the situation looked. A woman leaving his room dressed in his clothings still wet from apparently taking a bath. Martin felt almost guilty for sending her out looking like that. He decided he already liked her personality but he had no attachments or feelings strong enough to motivate him to do anything about it.

"No, this is as good a time as any for introductions; you can come in if you want"! Martin said as he gestured her in. Martin walked over to the bed when he noticed Oya's clothings on the floor and kicked them to the side. Kya had noticed as she was studying the room nosily. "You guy's are quick we've barely been out of the conference room for three hours"! She said lightly.

" I know what it looks like but it's not" Martin explained. " It doesn't matter I simply going around trying to meet everyone! To be honest I've heard alot about you over the years; I'm also from the Detroit. academy but from the east-side "! She explained.

"Uh oh the eastside:" Martin laughed. The two talked on for about an hour about various topics such as who they knew what fields they were in and what they hoped to accomplish during the mission. Even the subject of dreams and motivations came up. Martin found her very easy to talk to and she managed to say anything that would 'annoy' him. He found himself divulging to much information about himself and becoming to acquainted and friendly. It was a mistake that he knew he was making but with all the wrong steps he had made that day he figured why stop now.

Getting to know her on such a personal level was the last thing he wanted to do especially with the two of them being alone. He knew how woman could become attached so easily to a man that listen to them and responds honestly. He could tell she didn't want to leave nor did he want to kick her out; the more he looked at her the more he wondered if having her attached to him would be such a bad thing.

At one point during the conversation she took off her jumpsuit and posed for him, explaining the yoga position she used to open her chakars. Martin looked at the ceiling at first she was turned away so she didn't notice but sure enough that demon inside him talked him into taking a peak. She was petite brandishing much less than what Oya or other woman before her had but at the same time it didn't lose out. Her butt was abnormally perfect and large for her size. It wasn't fat but it was perfectly rounded and picture perfect. Sometimes he wondered why he was so bless with the presence of beautiful woman.

Martin had enough though, it wasn't awkward at all but he felt he was becoming to sincere with people. Martin saw himself as a straight forward person but he knew he like to keep people at a distance and control the air of a situation. However control is not something he could boaster at the moment. He wondered how he would get rid of the woman. Most girls would not respond to be escorting out by the arm the way he did Oya. Academy girls we're much more submissive but he thought better not to try because Kya had not done anything out of the ordinary and it would seem to forceful even for Martin to throw her out so abruptly for no reason.

The more he thought about it the greater his urge to be alone was, he had planned to spend his remaining hours fantasizing about what he would do on mars. Martin preferred to be in his own head which is why he was so cold at times to people. While he lived an interesting life that many would see as fulfilling he still had limitations, limitations that didn't exist in his mind. While he was amazing most of what was holding him back was other people!

When ever he was alone though he could contemplate any magnitude of greatness and with enough obsessing he could bring the grandiose illusions into reality. Just remembering that detail was enough to make him impatient. Martin grabbed Kya by the shoulders and started walking to the door as he politely used some excuse he practiced and used dozens of other times.

Before he could make it to the door though an alarm was going off and the lights flickered on and off. "The ship is experiencing some stellar turbulence all faculties are going to emergency lockdown"! The Automated man's voice sid over the speaker system.

"It would seem we're stuck here for a while"! Martin said.

Martin let Kya have the bed and excused himself to sleep, in actuality he was off in his own mind pretending she was never there.

Martin got into his bed while Kya was in the tub, he offered her a chance to freshen up a ruse to get a moment of solidarity. As he laid there looking through the observation window that he finally learned how to open much to his frustration only 30 minutes earlier he wondered how his brother back on earth was doing.

William Soto leaned against the wall as he watched the young children ravage the packages he had brought to the large urban family. William had wanted to come earlier but he was avoiding going out into public after his brothers old friend showed up at his door with a gun wound. He had been around McNicholas and Stout when he was ambushed by some a group of young men, they had robbed him of his weapon and money and followed up with a beating. He managed to fight them off but was shot in the altercation.

Luckily somebody in Williams home was a medical student and able to remove the bullet. This was common occurrence in Detroit and not nearly enough reason for alarm, though one thing did strike him as weird. According to Francis Demarco better known as p-nutty a man that William had known for an abundance of ten years the men had superseded him and waited by the Hospitals entrance. No doubt they had meant to finish off the job. It wasn't a simple robbery they had a personal beef with Francis, most likely do to being an academy graduate.

Their was a war going on William thought to himself. While Detroit was booming in the economical sense the wealthy was not spreaded equally. Leaving some areas rich and other stagnant and inert. William thankfully was on the former side, he had not been an academy graduate but his brother Martin was which generated more than enough money for William to have graduated from one of Detroits reformed private schools. William was visiting his best friend Devonte and his family, bringing his monthly donations.

He didn't see it as charity only helping out his friend but nobody was more aware of the actuality of his kindness and prestige than Devonte himself. For him to come back to his old neighborhood and help him out was a gesture he would never forget. While William hated coming to his old neighborhood as well as hating most of the people that inhabited it he understood their rivaling hatred for people who made it out of those slums. They weren't forced into that lifestyle anymore.

Look at Devonte he had graduated and gotten himself noticed by the hive. He would have a bright future if he actually got a chance to intern their. What was even more inspirational is he did it without the support of his family or community. Devonte's mother despised the corporation, back in the early twenties she need not the support of the Hive Corporation or employment by middle white America. She was sitting on the biggest drug empire the city had ever seen.

Her husband Jayvon was sitting on the biggest production of Cocaine of the northeast area. William still remembered the loud and obnoxious stories of his well to neighbor as he would jokingly yell "I got this from the white boy himself" at every social gathering and barbeque. Though when he was killed most of his wealth was taken in a mysterious case even his partners couldn't understand. Most believed he was set up by the CIA.

Since then Cocaine had been completely eradicated and the family had lost all his remaining money on various schemes that failed one after the next. " They taking my son, to be one of those fake-ass black panthers like your brother". Alondra said viciously aloud.

Alondra took a drag from her Marlboro ciggerate and laid it down in the ashtray on the living room table across from her. She was once a beautiful woman with a sharp wit but her lifestyle was taking toll on her looks. William wondered why she even bothered using the ashtray seeing as the cigarettes usually ended up on the floor anyway as the lazy woman used the living area as her personal dump.

"If I knew how halfheartedly black men fall for bullshit and fall from grace I would have told your mother to move to San Fransisco and got me a good white man"! She spued. Both Alondra and William's mother Zulekya had moved from the Virgin Islands to Detroit in their late teens to go to school. Though that was just an excuse to party in America and find men with money to pry their fingers into. William shuttered everytime he thought that the two had once been best friends.

"Hey If it wasn't for Martin we wouldn't be able to pay this ridicules rent and without dad we never would have had money to begin with. Don't forget my son is going to be one of those black men and a fake ass black panther."

Sheena Zulekya's oldest daughter had said coming from the dining area. She hugged William and sat down next to her mother. "Thank you again William, tell your brother the next time you see him that he doesn't have to send us anything anymore. With the money I'm going to be making I'll handle the rest of these responsibilities." Devonte said as he took his mothers ashtray and moved it to the kitchen.

"Where is your brother anyway"? Sheena asked. "You still got a crush on Martin after all these years"? Devonte teased. "Shut up, I have a husband"! Sheena replied.

"I don't know where he ran off to, he didn't tell me but I'm looking over his crib as you know"! "Martin always was secretive." Sheena replied. "Yea but he always has his reasons; But yea it's time for William to go everybody say bye".

"Do you really Willy we never get to hang out anymore"Sheena groaned. "Yes he does, you know he walks and it's gonna be dark soon." William left out the house after saying his goodbyes and cut down the street heading towards the Southfield freeway. He would walk the entire distance which would be far for a normal man but not he, William was a accustomed to walking long distances a habit he picked up from his brother. Their was no better way for a man to sort out his thoughts than a long walk, driving was simply too distracting.

In a car he couldn't feel the air of his environments instead absorbing the conditions of the streets and the people who inhabited them he simply rode pass them none the wiser. Unlike his brother who was always in his own head and too idealistic about the reality William preferred to look at the cold streets as they we're. Certain neighborhoods still as distraught and disorderly as they had been for years we're trickled with luxurious housing inhabited by Detroit's upper class.

Detroit the once prosperous and renowned city with a diverse culture had turned into a desolate slum a ghost town of failed business and lost dreams. Plagued by riots, the crack epidemic and half a century worth of unbelievable violence. The city was once again changing, a new metamorphosis new and strange to everyone. In the early twenties the city was recovering from it's bankruptcy and the 'whites' who once fled the city we're integrating back into the area.

In the last ten years as the Hive gained capital power surprisingly the violence in the city did not reduce. The city remained predominantly African-American with other minorities from other countries integrating into the area. The violence in the city didn't make since though it wasn't the regular petty crime he was accustomed too. William had just reached the intersection fenkell and greenfield when he decided to duck inside the omega coney island to get his dinner.

" Let me get a Coney and a chilli cheese fry." William said. " You got the same thing as me"! Ashanti said. William peered over to the young woman addressing him. What he saw was an attractive shapely dark brown young lady in a black woman's fur coat. " Yea I been getting the same thing since I was a kid, I mean I don't always eat this Junk but every once in a while I have to divulge".

" You went to the academy didn't you I can tell by the way you talk"? She said smiling. "Your thinking of my brother"! William replied grudgingly. " No I remember clearly seeing you walk with Martin in the morning everyday". She replied. "Ashanti"? " "I haven't seen you in like five years"!

"I know, last time I saw you you're chubby and kinda short now you're all tall an muscular"! "Well I did play foorball for 4 years at Ellington High, when was the last time you talked to Martin"? He asked. It was common for people to inquire on the whereabouts or current actions. William wouldn't let out reckless information about him or his brother out in the streets. It was a mistake he had paid for before as a savage beating from his brother.

He would keep the woman on a need to no basis. "About three years ago when I graduate from high school. He basically wrote me off though, I guess he thought I wanted to get back together!" William grabbed his food off the counter after the woman behind the counter called out to him. As he grabbed his food he looked in the mirror behind to confirm what he thought to be true.

"Would you like me walk you home"? William asked. She smiled and followed the man to street. " So William what are you up to these days, It seems like it's just as dangerous as ever in Detroit. I hope you are staying out of trouble," she asked. "Honestly I hear some pretty bad things!"

"I guess you could say i'm in the mix of those bad things.." william stated bluntly. Ashanti paused momentarily to ponder what william was saying. " You don't seem like the type to divule personal information you are martin brother after all, could you explain then the happenings in the city? "What do you want to know exactly?" t

"What do you know about akwol?" "Never met the man and I don't if he exist." "Well what about the hive?" Wel i have my own theories about them but i doubt you want to hear them so I'll give you the facts,"william would give her more information then someone in his position would freely divulge, he wasn't sure infact that the two would even make it home safely so why not he figured. "Graphene changed this city, Jacob Fosner the savior of detroit a white man who solved the problem of handling and mass producing graphene started a company that started working with the inner city to create business." "Already red flags are going up in your story," she laughed. "So a white man came here and promoted financial independence for the black man founded the hive which I know for the fact is connected to the academy? Not only that but allowed the city side persecution of whites and new integration. Even a madman wouldn't do anything crazy as all that."

" you almost sound like an academy woman, do you have something against caucasions?" William asked. "No not at all, I have something against Caucasians?" " no not at all, I have something against people not telling me what's actually going on. In this world we live in nobody truely does anything for the black man. People think they do but the truth is they all hate us and want us to die."

" be honest, akwol is really the leader of hive isn't he? He op pointed Jacob to hide the fact that a black man had trade secrets of the number one fincial gold mine of the last century. He feared for his own life so that's why he isn't coming out." William smiled. " you definently act like an academy woman."

"How would you know have you ever been with an academy woman or had you just seen Martin with them." She asked excitedly. " I've never been with any woman," he said solemnly "and as far as I know the only woman Martin ever called his girlfriend was you," "Come on now don't lie to me now, Martin was to cool and smoove to not have a bunch of woman Infact that's why he broke up with me was because he said he wanted an academy woman."

"I don't have a reason to lie Infact I hate lying, the thought if being held down to one woman made my brother sick to his stomach, he'd much rather be alone. He was always telling me that people only slow you down."

" I wouldn't lie about akwol either, I'm well connected with the academy students in the city as well as the hive and their secret military staff. Never heard them speak about akwol.

"So the hive does have a military? Tell me everything you know!" It was cold out but Ashanti's eyes were wide as if she had just seen the beach on a warm sunny day for the first time in her life. With so many rumors and conspiracy theories it was rare somebody could get some valuable inside information.

" I'm not even twenty years old, their are about 2000 academy graduates and the hive is thousands of members deep. Why do you think you've never heard the truth, think about it! No never mind I'll tell you."

"Last year an academy student Terrell Davis was abducted of course any secret worth anything is well protected but what was he supposed to do when injected with a vaccine that stopped the self inflicted poisoning from working it's magic. After being tortured for hours he slammed his own face into the edge of a table causing bone to fracture into his own brain killing him instantly."

" OH my god, how old was he?" "Twenty-four," William replied "Do you know what his abducter wanted to know?" Ashanti shook her head but never looked up she was staring at her fee trying to hide the fact that she was getting so emotional at just hearing the story. "They wanted to know what was on the second floor of the hives national building was."

"It's just a floor full of office supplies!" Ashanti stopped walking. " why didn't he just tell him. What harm could telling them just that cause? Is their some type of consequence for letting people know that kind of stuff?" She cried. " if their was do you think I would be telling you this stuff right now? No, I think if he could have redone that moment he would have just told them but the point of me telling you this story has nothing to do with some secrets about the hive or even how bad people want to know."

" Academy graduates aren't normal people, they don't think like us or behave like us. It's hard for me to even call them human. It might be hard for some in the city but once you cross into their world theirs no coming out." Ashanti's face sayin he'd up as if she didn't believe William. " I'm sorry but I think your exaggerating, I see academy men walking around all the time and they seem different but I think their more of a club a really conceited one. Sure they have a better education and money but that doesn't give them the right to look down on thee rest of us."

Willam grabbed Ashanti's arm and pulled imbed close to him. She was alarmed at first but she figured he was about to try and kiss her or something . Instead he grabbed her by ther arms and hugged her. "Listen some guys have been following us since we left Coney Island, they have some pretty serious weapons too."

William could visibly see the fear take hold of Ashanti's body which was followed by a small tremble. He could take the chance that his assailants saw it too; it would give away the fact he was aware of their presence. William had hoped he could reach Lancashire street. The entire community was a academy owned and was well known as being a no fire zone. Not even the dumbest criminals in detroit would attempt to start trouble their. Which is probably Why they had decreased the distance of their pursuit. They meant to attack before getting closer to the gates entrance

" Run down this street their will be a wall climb it and run as fast as you can to the park." What about you" she whimpered making a desperate attempt to sound brave. "Don't stop no matter what! Before she could start running the sound of gunshot echoed through the air. Through the corner of her eye she could see men with big guns jogging near her.

Ashanti turned her head momentarily to check and see if William was alright but all she saw was the darkskinned male hauling it across the street. The cars shield him from the line of sight of the men pursuing him. She had been betrayed. She was heading towards a dead end. Their was a wall she could barely make out in the distance but it was about ten to fifteen feet tall. She wouldn't be able to climb it period let alone before the men could reach her.

They were gaining fast, she could hear the footsteps grow louder and louder. She thought about turning the corner but if they were going to shoot her that would give them the perfect line of sight. Not that it mattered had they wanted to they could have opened fire on her long ago. "They want to abduct me!" Ashanti's mind started racing with horrifying thoughts of what awaited her. Will I be raped or beaten. The thoughts. Of these things made her want to sob but the fear of it slowing her down controlled the urge.

She could feel her nerves explode as an even worse fate crossed her mind; what if they just wanted her dead. She would be shot down in the street like so many in the city. A fate she understood was possible but never imagined would come to pass, she had so many dreams and aspirations that would be wasted. Ashanti could feel The presence of her attackers all down her neck as her hair stood up on ends. The adrenaline in her body was taking over, she wanted to be scared though her nervous system was more focused on sending impulses to her brain to supply more oxygen to her vital organs.

A smirk appeared on her face as she realized the irony her body was supplying her. Her breathes were fast and still were deep and paced. She was not only receiving enough oxygen to keep her faced paced running going for an inhuman long time but enough adrenaline to justify a longstanding intensity. As She neared the wall Ashanti banged on the closest door she could screaming for it to be opened and begging for help. To no avail though as she could see her pursuers slow down in a slow approach. Almost no sense of urgency as if they had all the time in the world and feared no repercussion.

The screeching of car tires as a black van sped down the block erupted into the night air. Would it be some one to help; not by the looks of it. The men in the van cracked open the back doors and peered out at her. A fat brown skinned man with a thichk beard that reached down his neck pointed a large m16 caliber rifle right at Ashanti. "Don't make any noise just hop in the van, we not bout to hurt you!" The man explained. Ashanti looked for her available options with her closest threat being a man about eight feet away; I could run she reasoned though i'm already tired and they don't seem hesitant to shoo..

Before she could finish her thought the sound of metal crashing together at high speeds interrupted her. The van rolled over right for her, but she jumped to the side just in time scraping her arms and legs. in the follow seconds ashanti her the screams of men along with the shattering of bones as small projectiles flew over her head. One could hear the collaterall damage as whatever it was being fired destroyed the surrounding environment. she couldn't hear a gun being fired though. as the noise died down a loud fizzing could be heard as if a giant beer can was opening. William was walking down the street with a hand weapon.

" You're using me as bait!" Ashanti. "No you're the catch!"

Ashanti turned he head momentarily to check and see if William was alright but all she saw was the darkskinned male hauling it across the street. The cars shield him from the line of sight of the men pursuing him. She had been betrayed. She was heading towards a dead end. Their was a wall she could barely make out in the distance but it was about ten to fifteen feet tall. She wouldn't be able to climb it period let alone before the men could reach her.

They were gaing fast, she could hear the footsteps grow louder and louder. She though about turning the corner but if they were going to shoot her that would give them the perfect line of sight.

She was not only receiving enough oxygen to keep her faced pace running going for an inhuman long time. As she was nearing the end of the block her pursues closed in both on foot and in vehicle as a jet black van pulled violently onto the scene. The doors slid open a men brandishing rifles stepped out. The military style m16 firearms chambered in .308 violently shocked ashanti. "This is no random mugging, this isn't even an abductions; they're going to kill me! She thought.

"Get into the van"! A stock man pointing a rifle right at Ashanti said. Ashanti never considered listening to any request to just freeing go with her pursuers. Either they would shoot her or force her along; being cooperative wouldn't help her one bit. Before she could try to run past them screaming her head off the violent shock of metal screeching caused her to duck and hug the pavement. The black van was now moving independent of the engine, sliding across the street, the sound of metal tearing right before the van flipped over drowning the neighborhood in terrible noise similar to a car crash.

The screeching was so loud it muffled the screams of men as projectiles ripped through their flesh cleaving some men in two while just maiming others. The light from the shooting brightening the area like lightning b righting the sky. As Ashanti looked up all she could she was horror with every flash. The spray and smell of blood and the faint sound.. no vibration as bone and vehicle pieces hit the ground during the unslaught.

What seemed like a life time was only a short while as William planked his enemy with his weapon. He was slow and precise. The sound from his pressurized gas weapon was unique and a strong deterrent. The police would not readily respond to the noise even if in the Vicinity. The weapon made by the weapons division of the Hive Corporation would tear through police cars and vest like a samurai sword going through pudding. Whenever it was used the target is assuredly dead. William was also careful to make sure the weapon was pointed in an angle that would cause the weapon to shoot towards the sky. Seeing as the bullets were known to be unstoppable even easily breaking through the graphene vest the military used.

William ran hurriedly to check on Ashanti. " You left me, you lied to me and used me as bait!" She yelled immediately. You weren't bait you were a test to see whom they were after me or you, more importantly I think you should tell me why you would were you so attractive to these small fish. He ordered.

"William?" A man yelled. "Val! What are you doing here?" " I heared the Peabody and came to back somebody up but it seems they didn't need me"! "Wrong I need you to get me out of here before something else troublesome happens." A black Cadillac pulled onto the scene stopping the conversation. "Too late, you won't believe who that is"! "Who"? "akwol himself"

    Back orbiting mars

Martin had finally caught up with his best friend Emmanuel. A Fate that most annoyed Emmanuel or E-man as people called him. He was a short man compared to Martin about 5'8 and much less radical. "As you know I was trying to ignore you for the majority of the trip, cause well your a psycho you always get me in trouble and you purposely try and distract me from getting my work done unless that work is somehow helping you, which it almost somehow certainly is. I don't mean this in a playful way either you really are holding me back in life"! Said Emmanuel. "But"? Martin replied back.

"Jack has brought some thing too my attention. "

"like"? " Off topic about some girl named Oya walked into your room, and apparently she had legs that could choke a horse. For Kenyatta to say that she must be the type that could stop a man with just looks." "I've been all over and I have to admit she is the most gorgeous woman I've ever seen a little strange but I will probably have to hit that."

"Have to, You act like you don't have a choice" Emmanuel laughed. "Bro was waiting in my room naked, nigga I think my heart stopped for like ten seconds. You know I played it cool though."

Well he-he he also reminds me that to most of the world that even believes we exist were seen like child soilders which let's be honest we kind of are. Even though their are officers of the hive here and it's problematic fake army. While we're all on the same team let's be honest again, we're all trained differently and for different purposes. So we have hive members and special officers from our ever confusing organization and on top of that we have academy graduates from other states and parts of michigan that I've never met ever.

Oh and as I've heard you already notice the seemingly completely normal citizens along for the ride that add a plethora of question to the sanity of this mission"

"Get to the point Eman. "

" Well this guy Patrice almost got into a fight with jack, these POF officers are trying to land with us, they are rationing out supplies and equipment and I come to find nobody on earth was left in charge over anything other than sending us supplies. So I can let this clusterfuck unfold and wait until it impedes upon my research or I can help you with what ever your inevitably scheming . Everybody agrees your the best person to handle organizing the existing parties. Well atleast the people that know you well, would say that if I had bothered to ask them"

"So you took all that time to say, Martin I'm going to help you. As if I didn't know you was going to come crawling up to me eventually so that I can add some adventure to your hard ice tea excuse of a life. I know cylinders with more edge than you Eman."

"Let's not forget tihara is here" Eman goaded

"Low blow E-man! She the one person who I'm actually worried about on this darn ship, and I hate to burst your bubble but I don't have some big plan to make us the big Kuhanas of the ship or down on the surface. In fact there is no way. Everybody here has something to prove not only to themselves but to everybody else too. Most importantly everybody always and I mean always wants to impress akwol. As long as you in this organization people will seek his approval. He's more god than man to people nowadays.

"So what's the deal?" Emmanuel questioned. "People are predictable, if it's one thing I ever learned is if you really put 100 percent into it then you already a hundred times better than the rest. I believe that were better than the other cuase I've seen our push. By the end of the month everybody will be where there suppose to be and will be at the top as always. As for the captain I'm going to go tell him that he is no more than a planetary chauffeur and that he's not to mettle in the affairs of any pioneers.

" What about The rest of the pioneers, will you assume the leadership position or just watch how things play out." " I'm not going to assume anything, they're going to appoint me as leader and you're going to do all the hard work as always. Though i think I will flex a little. Get kenyatta (knuckles/jack) tihara and the rest and we're going to do a little demonstration."

"Martin I wouldn't suggest you do anything to drastic, most of the pioneers that will depart with us are academy graduates like us. I for one don't want to look like some 'hothead'. This isn't Detroit, nobody is going to run and gun on Akwol's ship just because you said so. Including me." Emmanuel said.

"Nigga if you don't want to do things my way why did you ask me to take charge?" Martin responded angrily. "Because, I know your not a one tracked minded person, Your excited so you want to make the situation worse and ride it like a wave of destruction even though you yourself don't want to cause a big ruckus." "So you're saying you have a plan, you want to take charge?"

"No I'm going to leave it to you, I'm just going to do all the hard work, remember. You're going to go talk to the captain, he's the only real threat. I've already mapped out the entire ship, the base and the protocol for landing and running the terradome on mars." "Really, you did all this right after learning about the POF officers plan to join us.."

"No I could have you know that, but honestly I been planning this for days. I can play nice with the pioneers that Akwol hand picked for this misson but not some old ass Bee military niggas and other reject agents. You know how I am with the company I keep."

"Ha, That's why I fuck with you Eman. Thanks for reminding me. I have a request though, if we're going about this diplomatically I do have one POF officer that might be of use. Duane Bey." "If he meets your approval than I have no objections" Emmanuel responded. " He's well trusted and very respected, It took me awhile to remember but I remember hearing his name back home. Take him with you, I'll stop the rest of the crew from interfering."

" It won't take me long. we've already have more than enough supplies and briefing to get us through atleast two weeks by ourselves. In about two hours we will settled down on the surface, you have an hour roughly to make it to the stabilizing wing and board the vessel marked with your name."

" I got it" Martin confirmed.

Martin started through the corridor going towards his quarters, upon entering he grabbed a backpack and a canister of his personal favorite of the drinks that were administered aboard the flight. Sipping on the cool beverage would keep him cool and collected, traits he would need since he had not yet figured how to separate the POF officers and the pioneers who intermingled through out the ship. "I know!" Martin raced towards the opposite wing of the ship. The way the ship was designed was so that the spacecraft would remain balance do matter which way it propelled through space, an intricate sytem that looped right back in the main open area that connected the lodging area slash observatory as well as many of the room frequently tenanted by POF officers.

The Pioneer quarters were located on both sides separating half from the Stabilization wing. Once Martin arrived in front of the door he wanted he banged viciously.

People want a straightforward hero an underdog that overcomes adversity. nobody wants to hear about clever grey areas or underlying perplexity. New ways of think are for nerds trying to start a buisness or design a product.I cant relate to your incessant need to have your cake eat it and try and clone it too.

Eman, Kenyatta and a few others loaded the sub celestial probe; A machine designed to send supplies to the biosphere on the mars surface. Abbreviated dauntingly into the SCP it was a long used system by the Bee origination on earth, a series of rocket controlled launches sent supplies around the world. The SCP's ability to accurately land through dense jungles without satellite guidance made it an undeniably powerful weapon in guerilla warfare. Redesigned by Dr. Flood it now worked even through the harsh Martian terrain, disruptive radiation and corrosive atmosphere.

Instead of being guided remotely by a satellite or a third person part the SCP is guided by an internal AI that calculates the best possible survival chances. "The SCP was never designed for precision landings so we can't be sure where it will land, the schematics of the machine more or less suggest it will be within a mile of it's designated destination. I never trust a bitch in a new city, so I recalculated it's success percentage from the data I've collected about the planets weather and behavior. It should land between 1 or 2 miles if not closer to the base but if it happens to land 3 or miles further away we're fucked!?" Explained Eman.

    "Why?"

"The pods will bring us within 50 meters of the base, the technology and precision of the machinery surpasses anything I've ever seen. Even the craftsmanship for a one time transport is impressive. Though we could land right by the biosphere and space walk inside but without the supplies we won't be able to survive for more than a day."

"Maybe we should wait for the POF officers!" Kenyatta suggested. "No theirs the same amount of risk no matter who oversees this mission. We all knew their would be risk before we came." Said Eman. "I'm against this, I understand your feelings but it's selfish to decide this yourself. We might need POF officers down their with us, these are our people we can talk to them and work it out." Said ganaka.

"You might be right, we can use them, the key word being use. Over fourteen billion dollars in resources was used on project Liit!" Explained Eman.

"Isnt that exactly why we should follow a protocol and listen to who's in charge!" Ganaka pestered. "In a way I am! We're in charge, I don't know how it is in the illness division but the majority of the hives resources and efforts have gone into preparing academy graduates. The only return on this mission is the knowledge we send back into earth and that information is soely regulated by us. We make the decisions we call the shots!" Ganaka stepped back and observed the situation. Almost all of the young pioneers were in attendance, most of them already gearing up fully aware that they were abandoning the ship, disregarding the instructions of the entire craft and heading to Mars based on the assumptions of the man before her.

"So we're trading their guidance for yours?" She said appalled.

The door opened and the womanly figure appeared before Martin. Much to Martin's delight she seemed vunerable; a look of slight shock coupled with confusion as to why Martin would visited her in her dorm. "I don't have have much time, what is your name"?

Eman punched in a few coordinates into the machine before fastening his helmet and strapping himself into the shuttle. He was the last one out, the vehicle sank into the floor. The mechanical parts working it through to the other side. They were padded and worked like a muscle. Once cleared from the grip of the ship Emmanuel gripped the sides of his compartment as he felt like he was being dropped. "Woah"! He squelched. "It's a hell of a feeling, being surrounded by all this vastness"? Kenyatta said over the intercom. The rockets pushed Emanuel into position.

Martin kissed Z passionately on the neck as she enjoyed his embrace. He made sure not to rush the situation as he had plenty of time. "I understand why. Make no mistake we understand the importance of this generation. But at the same time you underestimate how much we have struggled to get you to this point." Z put on a determined look. "What your asking me to do, i have just the right amount of pull to acomplish. But to destroy the other two shuttles is madness that i cant allow the overall cost alone.. I just cant.

"I've known the captain for some years though i will be able to convince him of the missions success if you allow duane bey to accompany you. He was Samads most trusted solider. Zee started to put her clothes back on. "Remember what you promised me when we return to earth, I want to be apart of everything!"

"Theres alot to behold back home, even im not apart of all of it; i have a feeling Jezel is going to change alot in the upcoming years."

"how so?" She questioned. "Well if you look at the current world affairs as far as were concerned apart fom the war." Are major bases are in america north and south zaire africa and india. 2 yesrs ago i was in dubai and there was major talk of a military base being set there. Dubai has resisted both our and the UNs dvancement into the city. Basically put they have been forced to support the hive for years but until recently have managed to stop us from taking over."

"What's the point your getting to?"

" Well i wont bore you with how I know but we have a fully functional space program." Zee stared at Martin as if to say you're not making any sense. "It's the year 2040. Akwol started the foundation governing over the academy in 2015. I'm sure when he looked at the problems facing black people in america and the rest of the world the space program was the last thing he was thinking about. Farms and land, education, weapons, armies, technology even esponage and propoganda. In such a short time one company has come so far and accomplished so much; if you even knew the half of it you'd believe in withcraft."

    "I'm missing the point!?"

"War"! Martin said. "Well what do you call the last ten years? Theres been casualties on both sides. Operating under the clouds of different factions we've become a very... obstructive force in the world. Surely somebody somewhere knows the truth about us. The fbi has followed us ever since 2018"

"You really think the united nations are investigating the hive corporation just waiting for us to slip up so they send in the troops and armies?" Z stared into martin eyes intensly, she could feel the weight of his words baring down on her. "The hive have five major weapons that give us advantage on ground warfare, two being are garphene armor that we lease out US goverment and are chemically enhanced deep pentration firearms. Over seven years we have about 900 students currently enrolled in the academy which of course you know I am a second generation graduate. My resources say that we have about thirty-one hundred foot soilders spread out around the world at any given time. It would be childsplay to incinerate our forces of the planet of the earth.

Z walked over to the wall to lean against it her arm supporting her weight and her other hand covering her face. You could see the horror in her face.

" How can you say that, those are my friends fighting. They're fighting for us. I-..I mean i woild ssy were winning, when I see battle reports ots almost always in our favor. How could you even say something like that."

" Calm down, you already knew this yourself. I mean think about it, they bombed Hiroshima an entire city reduced to a pile of ashes children and woman for generation affected by the radiation, iraq, vietnam, hell they wiped out the native americans the very people that helped them survive the very land they stole. Our very foundation was started with the understanding that we not break the law. I ask you somebody who is suffciently high up in rank. What kind of crimes have you commited to come so far. Why do you think your still hear?"

" Ive traveled the world are bases our institutions are impressive for people who not long ago had fallen so low in society but even now not much has changed for us. Only a small portion of ethnic groups are anyway involved with us or reap are benefits less than 1 percent. Were not even strong enough to come out of hiding."

"If we're so weak than why have we not been destroyed or eridicated yet"? Z asked, her eyes widen awaiting a response from martin.

"It's more complicated than that, people of the sun have been persecuted around the world in the last couple of centuries. A cruelty more profound than just about any other act in the world. Somebody who fights against that you cant just declare war against in front of the whole world. Thats the thing about Akwol, nobody knows who he is where he comes from where he lives or what hes like. Even as a kid he would just appear in my life out the blue. Sometimes ive wondered if he was even real; when me and my friends talk about him are memories are always off. A certain detail here, how he looks, hpw tall he is his personality his.."

"I get it, dont tub in the fact that i never met the man! " Z interrupted.

" ive seen armored monstrosities that fire projectiles by the millions, some with laser triggered forcefields. I've been in weapons labs, and studied viruses under a scope that could destroy nations. Ive seen kickboxers and gunmen and nature survivalist. One thing I've never seen on any of the seven continents is a man as loving as him.

"Ok, put on the headphones." Anthony said pointing to the consoles. Anthony couldn't believe the situation he was being put in. The woman he had became so close to over the last few months abruptly walked into his room which should have locked. "I can't believe I'm doing this!'

"Jesus dude you sound like death warmed over, all you doing is your job! Get those scientist down to the surface safely." Marting spurted rudely. "It wasn't suppose to happen like this!" He retorted. "You know we can hear you, right?" It was av oice coming from the intercom. "That's Emmanuel. According to the records he has the third highest IQ of all academy graduates in the world! He's are best chance to get them to the ground safely!" Z informed Anthony.

"Everybody can hear you guys so be careful of what you say!"

"Why does he have all the intercoms connected, he's in the captains pod? The preset configuration allows only his pod to receive voice command from the mothership." Anthony blocked his microphone so only Martin and Z could hear him.

"I'll tell you why soilder!" Martin answered him. Anthony had became alarmed with the young man from earlier on. Despite his wiery figure and ghetto bravado Martin switched between violent deviant and seasoned solider well. Only 23 from his case file he was of course still a kid immature and brash, the way most very young adults are. Until he focused his attention on somebody. His very posture and demeanor noted violence and destruction but when he spoke he seemed reserved. It was as if he was always hiding his true attentions.

Even the way he walked and talked was peculiar. He talked very slow and methodical at times but would often yell or make sudden movements, making him hard to predict. Though what made him truly frightening is that he made it look natural and even worse sort of charming.

"I don't know what people's ambitions and goals were before, but one thing we all have in common is we're passionate."

    Anthony simply stared at Martin.

" I have to agree with him there"! Ganaka's heavy accent broke through the intercom.

"His methods are wrong, but upon further contemplating I realized. None of asked to be here and most likely none of us ever had high aspirations to become astronauts. At the very least I didn't. I'm here because he asked me to and because he told me my skills as a statistician would be best served here." She explained

"But we're here to help you utilize those skills." Said Z

" And no offense to anybody up there, this is Kya 'btw' nice speaking with you. No offense but you don't quite realize the intensity and thoroughness' of are training as academy students. It wasn't simple schooling or training. Billions of dollars were spent on just the research of how we should be raised and the effort of everyone involved is unquestionable. We're simply cut from a different cloth when it comes to completing missions and making them our own. Once again no offense but I don't want to do my research while being babysitted by anyone; So I should say thank you Martin!"

Z smiled and laid a hand on Anthony's shoulder. Perhaps she was hoping that I had be persuaded.

"We'll it does seen silly and even arrogant but we do have a way of referring to people like you. We would pass notes or whisper in each others ear as kids. Two letters. 'N' 'H' or normal human. Said A'yan

"See they're laughing at us through the intercom, you knew it as well as I they aren't normal kids. We would serve no purpose down on Liit with them!"

"You don't have to convince me, I don't have a choice in the matter without my help you guys would just drift off into space and years of painstakingly tiring work would be for not. It just seems to me like you guys are experiencing some early adulthood rebellion and your willing to jeopardize the mission just to have everything on your own terms!"

Anthony was assured by the awkward silence that he had hit the nail on the head.

"Did he say were going to float off into fucking space!?" Patrice said.

" No the pods will keep us in position in relation to the ship and the planet we'll stay on course until Anthony gives the go ahead for the SCPs main drive to calculate the proper entry coordinate. It is Anthony right?"

"Yes" Anthony was checking the data not really listening anymore.

" I have, two questions Anthony!"

" Shoot them to me"! He replied.

" Your obviously a scientist, and going from your accent I would say Massuchetts.. likely you went to Harvard. You sound older maybe late 40's I'm also guessing you have two children."

"Ok, I have to say your detective skill are quite formidable but those weren't questi..

"In today's society especially as successful as you undoubtly were I have to wonder why you would have sided with us. Why side with a group so focused on race relations? It's not like your from a war torn nation or are from some underprivileged ghetto who wants to fight the man! You could have joined nasa and made a better less regulated living. My questions are what is your problem with America and what is your motivation for helping us."

    Anthony stared at his keyboard.

Z had also wondered why such a straightlaced man had gotten involved in such a business.

" I don't really have a problem with America" Anthony said as he resumed typing away.

" I was born in Boston but my parents moved me and my brother to Massachusetts in order to receive better schooling, growing up in Boston I was no stranger to racial prejudice but like most black men I learn to just live with it.

It didn't bother me, though I worked hard and I overcame all the glass ceilings in the workplace and I became an astrophysicist. My work took me around the world and one thing I noticed was that in all the world the Africans had it the most figured out.

Around the same time I moved to Africa my brother died shot by the police here in the states. I had finally had enough Society is dieing and the Bee corporation is it's only hope."
