You should just label it Top tier, High tier, Mid tier and Low tier, even though low tiers are above average fighters.

tier lists for GoT are very clusterfucky

the only evidence of most fighters' prowess is their reputation, and less so of what we've actually seen of them.

idk how you would even begin to make a tier list this series. it ends up being very abstract.

I think we can confidently idenitify the very strongest, just based on onverall feats and both acknowdlegemnet from others and martin himself, which the top tier fighters have. The mid tiers are the hardest and it can be difficult to nk hem in order, as they represent your standard "skilled" or "really good fighter" type guys but even then we have been told differing levels

    Garlan>Guyard
    Phillip Fotte>Emmon Cuy
    Areo>Obara
    Balon>Trant/Blount
    Osney>Trant/Blount

where specifically indicated in the books

Move Khal Drogo to High tier.

The real world is cold! The real world doesn't care about spirit! You want to be a hero? Then play the part and die like every other Huntsman in history! As for me, I'll do what I do best: lie, steal, cheat and survive!

im afraid hes done nothing and doesn't have the recognition to suggest that hes on the level of those guys. They are the real monsters at the moment

Just stick with Top Tiers. It turns into guesswork after that.

And Oberyn should be at least in the same tier as the Mountain.

presumably so. He took out bryndens eye in a spectacular duel that was described as a sight to witness. Brynden on several occasions has been regarded as a powerful swordsmen that was more capable as an archer, and the difference was probably minimal based on how the duel was rembered but id say since aegor removed his eye he won. Aegor>Brynden

without tier seperations and just listing them from strongest to weakest i think it goes like this.
gaps may vary. this is including characters who appeared only, not using the histroy books.

Arthur Dayne "the Sword of the Morning"
    Barristan Selmy "the Bold" (Prime)
    Jaime Lannister "Kingslayer"
    Sandor Clegane "the Hound"
    Gregor Clegane "the Mountain"
    Oberyn Martell "the Red Viper"
    Garlan Tyrell
    Bronn "of the Blackwater"
    Brienne "of Tarth"
    Loras Tyrell "Knight of Flowers"
    Jorah Moromont
    Jon Snow
    Eddard "Ned" Stark
    Vardis Eagan
    Robb Stark
    Meryn Trant
    Boros Blout = Trained Soilder
    Samwell Tarly = Untrained Soilder

Youve excluded so many prominent knights and many such as Jorah and vardis dont deserve a spot at all.

Aemon/Daemon Blackfyre/Gwayne Corbray are at the top. NO questions

I'd move Oberyn up one and maybe put Jamie down 1 tier.

Jamie stated that their were 3 guy's that could "potentially" defeat him.

If oberyn gets put into the one above hed be at the very bottom because they represent the best swordsmen in the world at the moment. GRRM stated that Jaime was among the best ever so being in that top group near selmy seems reasonable to me.

I'm okay with putting him on the above. He could defeat all the characters that are in his tier.

Then leave Jamie and put Gregor up. Also, who do you think Jamie was referring to when he made that comment?

    My guess is: Gregor
    GreatJon
Barristan? (Too old at the time?)

No way was he referring to greatjon who has no feats or major indication of his strength. Hes seven feet tall so its reasonable to assume his strength is a massive advantage.

    Barristan
    Sandor
    Gregor

Jaime implies through a conversation with raff the sweeting that in his prime hed be able to handle sandor so i cant be sure. Garlan, Lyn Corbray and Harras Harlaw are probably the best in the world at the moment

Jamie said he was one of the strongest men alive. That has to mean something.

Harras Harlaw? What are his feats?

Andrik > Harras > Vic, right?

I'd place him below Areo Hotah and Darkstar. Loras Tyrell has the most potential currently though.
