    The combat mechanics was improved by a huge amount in the the sequel. You still can't use all weapons, though, unless you choose the Soldier class (which is all about weapons and has no other powers). The original game has the best story of the three. 2 has the best characters. 3 has the best combat mechanics, but inconsistent writing. After beating 1 you'll probably want to keep going.

    I remember being bothered by that as well. Apart from that things I was most annoyed by in Mass Effect 1 was the planet scanning system, hiccups with shooting mechanics and the Mako, that vehicle was a bitch to drive. Thankfully all those issues were fixed in the sequel.
    The planet scanning? What do you mean? Planet scanning was ME2.

    No there was actually an archaic scanning system in MS1 which poorly allowed you to determine whether or not a planet contained minerals, it was a tedious endeavor using that, even more so to drive the Mako in search of said minerals with vague indications. I should do some research and see what the system was called but bottom line is served the same purpose but MS2 improved on it, hence my point.

    I don't think so? You just land on a planet, then you drive around with the Mako and look for the map markers that indicate minerals. I've certainly never used a scanning system in ME1. At most the planet description might tell you it's rich on minerals or w/e but that doesn't really matter seeing how I'm pretty sure every single place you could land on did have a few. Or do you just mean the part where you clicked on the planet and clicked again to have the game automatically survey?

    Ohh wait, you mean when you moved the cursor around the starmap to see if there was anything hidden in asteroid belts and such? That's what you mean? That's a very small part really and in ME2 you did the same thing, except you had to manually drive the ship around, which took even more time...

    What was tedious as hell was ME2's scanning. Just a mindless repetitious activity, but unlike ME1 you had to do it to get resources for upgrading stuff. In ME1 you could ignore it.

    Don't dwell on semantics, didn't I just told you I did not recall the name of whatever mechanics we used to find minerals, hence why I called that way?

    I'm not dwelling on semantics. I just don't see how that system is any worse than what they put in ME2, considering it's the same thing but takes even longer, I mean?

    @Coruscation;

    lol I should place you in a choke-hold.

    In any event my memory of the game is too foggy at moment to have a meaningful discussion on this specific matter.

    I recommend watching this video

    This guy is a fantastic reviewer and is insanely knowledgeable on a technical level. Sad that he isn't nearly as popular as the likes of that angry faggot and ign/gamespot

    Saw some story parts, and it reminded to much about the previous Dragon Age. Which I hated.

    If you already own it. I would definitely recommend trying it out. Might even like it. Me? Hate it. Fell asleep after work everytime I was playing it. Just like AC3.

    I was not too fond of the fight mechanic in the origins, way too slow for my liking for a game like that.

    I've got AC3 as well... on Xbox360 though... And I never even touched the console myself.

    It's faster in this game, and also in the second one, but if you didn't like it back then I doubt your going to love it now.

    You didn't miss out on anything when it came to AC3, but the console?! Bruhhh
