IRL they would both team up to destroy the lannisters and than betray eachother.

This.

Game of Thrones is a series where "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" applies all the time, we see this for example when the Martells consider allying with Renly Baratheon because he is an enemy of the Lannistes even though the Martells don't like the Baratheons due to what happened to Elia.

And then they got Margaery to marry Joffrey even if Margaery was married to Renly and Renly and Joffrey = forever enemies.

They would be friends if Daenerys was aware of how Ned tried to stop Robert from having her murdered.

things are never that simple now are they

How true is this statement? Can your enemy's enemy be your friend?

It's certainly true. Two of my best friends are my friends now, cause at some point we all belonged to the same huge ass clique and we hated two guys who were ruinning the mood all the time. We got closer because we loved to talk shit about those guys behind their backs. Basically, mutual hate or dislikes in general are some of the best factors that can lead to a good friendship. Also, when someone can be considered your enemy, you will often deal with him more effectively if you team up with other enemies of him. And for your group to be effective, you're gonna need good cooperation, mutual trust etc and you'll end up building a friendship.

It is only true if their goals aren't in conflict.

This again? First you make a thread where you encourage members to talk about Corus behind his back, and now you have this 'huge ass clique' yet you can't deal with two guys and instead talk trash without them knowing. I was under the impression you were some amazing fighter but you can't even stand up to these guys face-to-face.

You need to man up.

I remember first hearing that from Rose in Bleach, and it's very true.

Were you living under a rock? :giogio

Firstly, that was 4 years ago, I was quite immature, I'm much more mature now. Second, this had nothing to do with fighting and in the end I said everything in front of them. Btw, they were talking shit about us behind our backs us well. I couldn't have said everything openly from the start, cause they were friends of our friends and it was quite complicated. We knew that if we started a fight with them, the clique could break up and that's what happened in the end. It's a sad story of my past.......

If the enemy of my enemy actually helps me destroy/do whatever I want to my enemy, then yeah, I'd say hes my friend, until he gets in my way as well.

I think the best that an enemy of an enemy offers is a temporary alliance. Eventually, things will break down and you will only have a new enemy to deal with.
